The Roots of Mitsukura

  • The Origins
    of Our Business

    Kanei Shoten, a business passed down through the DAN family—the founding family—which dealt in food products such as soy sauce in Kobe

  • 1957

    Mitsukura Boeki Co., Ltd. was established in Kobe. The company began its international trade operations.

  • 1970s

    The company expanded its business with China, the Soviet Union, Vietnam, Cuba, and other countries.

  • 1978

    Entered the U.S. market and opened a local office in Alhambra, California.

  • 1980

    Opened “Kobe Misono,” a teppanyaki restaurant in San Diego, California, USA.

  • 1984

    The company changed its name from Mitsukura Boeki Co., Ltd. to Mitsukura Co., Ltd.

  • 1988

    Opened “PRICE CLUB,” a specialty store for imported goods, on Rokko Island.
    The facility integrated the entire process, from import to sales, with a bonded warehouse on site.

  • 1992

    Established Avanti International Trading Corporation, an affiliated company, in San Diego, California, USA. The company was primarily responsible for exports to “PRICE CLUB,” a specialty store for imported goods.

  • 1998

    Began importing Tsingtao Beer directly exclusively for our “PRICE CLUB.”

  • 2009

    The former Mitsukura expanded its Tsingtao Beer business in the Japanese market.

  • 2014

    Mitsukura Corporation was established.

Building on the former Mitsukura’s experience in the Tsingtao Beer business and overseas trade, we operate under a new organizational structure.
The current Mitsukura Corporation is a separate legal entity from the former Mitsukura, carrying forward its business, experience, and spirit.
This historical background is based on family and internal company records.
A bonded warehouse is a facility authorized by the customs authorities where foreign goods can be stored before customs duties and other taxes are paid.
